The frequencies used by all ultrasound devices are simply not high enough to evoke resonance of gasvesicles in cyanobacteria, whereas the power used is insufficient to evoke cavitation that would kill phytoplankton and all other life in the vicinity of the transducers. I would recommend a system analysis (diagnosis that includes quantification of water and nutriënt fluxes) prior to action as it guides towards the most promising set of measures, and indeed nutriënt control will be crucial.
