TechXchange 2014 – The Launch Pad for International Innovation

The TechXchange kicked off Singapore International Water Week yesterday with an international audience of over 250. Hosted by Environment &Water Industry Programme Office(EWI), Public Utilities Board (PUB), Rethink Events and BlueTech Research andsponsors includingElectroscan and Bluewater Bio, the TechXchange afforded delegates the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions, network with global professionals, and discover the latest in innovative technologies from 11 Singaporean and international water-tech companies.

Chew Men Leong, Chief Executive, Singapore PUB, opened proceedings with an insightful and thought-provoking keynote detailingSingapore's visionfor innovation in water.

Following plenary sessions during the TechXchange focused on the implementation of innovation, with speakers from XPV Capital, Xylem, Veolia and Mekorot discussing the commercialization and internationalization of innovation. Business leaders from the Singapore PUB, Masdar, Suez Environnement and Néstle continued this theme, discussing how innovation moves from the boardroom to real-world application.

Throughout the day, delegates looked on as key water market investorsquestioned leadinginnovative technology providers on the dynamics and business strategies of their technology offerings. Delegates rated each technology on its potential to disrupt the market for the Disrupt-o-Meter™ Award and the strength of the company's market strategy for the BlueTruffle™ Award.

Award winners were Medad for the BlueTruffle™ Award and Puralytics for the Disrupt-o-Meter™ Award. Each award winner will be featured in the WEFTEC Innovation PavilioninSeptember 2014.
