The Thames tidal flood defense system from Teddington in West London to Sheerness and Shoeburyness in Kent and Essex is meant to protect 200 billion pounds of property including the iconic Thames Barrier, CH2M Hill said in a statement.
Paul Leinster, the Environment Agency's chief executive, welcomed CH2M Hill "as our partner to deliver this vital program of works to refurbish and update the current flood risk-management systems along the Thames estuary."
