Talking about water footprint (big) companies still have a way to go. A minimum step from governments woud be make bioplastics mandatory . Available options for consumer is to treat water at home. In case you have water from the tap, with less or unreliable water, just add an Ultra filtration step. Either as point -of-entry or point-of-use with a simple Active Carbon filter to reduce odour and upgrade the taste. It frees you from lugging with water. Essential minerals will remain in the water, all bacteria are out. It's not so dificult......
