Top Smart Water Meters

Smart meters can save you a lot of money, prevent you from paying for water leaks or even stop the water supply if the water leak is detected.

Here is a summary of the best smart water meters:

FLUID – learning water meter

FLUID uses the ultrasonic technology to show consumers exactly how much, where and when water is being consumed in their home daily.

Installing is easy - FLUID is clamped around the main water pipe, plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi. No plumbing is required.

The FLUID app provides real-time water consumption reports on your phone, both iPhone and Android.

The device sends ultrasonic pulses to measure the rate of water flow.

The advantage is that the pipe does not need to be cut in.

FLUID learns and knows which appliance or faucet is consuming the water.

Each faucet and the device has a signature run rate and the duration of water flow and FLUID can be taught to recognize them. The app is instructed to keep track of the consumption assigned to each device. It memorizes the consumption patterns and is able to tell devices and faucets apart even when they and simultaneously running.

As FLUID detects constant or erratic water use, it will alert the user before the disaster happens and serves as a disaster prevention tool.

WAVIoT SWM-1 – remote water consumption meter

WAVIoT combines IoT and LPWAN communication technology to achieve precise water metering and huge scalability.

The WAVIoT smart meter, SWM-1, is functional from the moment it is installed.

SWM-1 transmits readings to the utility control panel via a wireless network.

SWM-1 is designed for private residential and office building water metering.

With extremely low energy consumption, it can track water consumption for up to 10 years, autonomously.

Monitoring is performed online with the Internet of Things cloud interface.

SWM-1 tracks the hot and cold water consumption on an hourly, daily or monthly basis.

Remote readings are automated, via a long-range NB-Fi wireless protocol - Narrowband Fidelity, which enables low-power, wide-area, machine-to-machine communication.

The smart meter is easily integrated to a third-party software.

More than 2000000 smart meters can connect to a single gateaway. The range of a base station is over 16 kilometers in urban and over 50 kilometers in the open country.

SWM-1 is highly sensitive and can detect as low as 0,015 m³ flow.

SWM-1 has a magnet detection sending alarm.

The ultrasonic measurement ensures accuracy during its whole lifetime.

It is hermetically closed without moving parts and is, therefore, resistant to dust, humidity and water so it has a long lifetime (up to 16 years).

It has high mounting options and is magnet resistant.

It is used for household water consumption tracking.

MULTICAL 21/ flowIQ 210X can measure water temperature, visually represent the water flow and calibrate water quality. It, therefore, shows the utilities where action is needed.

The optical eye on the meter provides data consumption reading as information is stored in the data logger for up to 460 days while monthly data is kept for 3 years.
