Treatment of Fracturing Fluids Taking off in Canada

Ozonix® Process Technology Treats Hydraulic Fracturing Fluids, Including Flowback and Produced Waters, for Bacteria, Scale and H2S

Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. , a U.S. technology licensing and innovative manufacturing company, today announced that Fidelity National Environmental Solutions ("FNES"), a company in which ESPH holds a 31% interest, has accepted delivery of a second Ozonix® EF10M water treatment system for HydroSphere Energy Solutions ("HydroSphere"), a sub-licensee of FNES for its patented Ozonix®water treatment technology in the territory of Alberta and North East British Columbia, Canada. To date, ESPH has manufactured and delivered approximately 42 Ozonix® mobile, water treatment units for its customers in the Energy market.

Robbie Cathey, CEO of FNES, stated, "It is great to see our Canadian licensee HydroSphere taking delivery of their second Ozonix® EF10M piece of equipment. We are very encouraged by HydroSphere's early success in the Canadian market. HydroSphere is getting the same great results treating produced waters, especially with regards to H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) treatment, that we have been providing for our customers in the United States, since 2009.We believe the Ozonix® process is the best available technology to treat hydraulic fracturing fluids, including flowback and produced waters, for bacteria, scale and H2S."

Scott Donahue, CEO of HydroSphere, stated, "HydroSphere has now completed several on-site sour water treatment jobs reducing H2S concentrations of up to 12,000 ppm to 0 ppm (non detectable). Our client has estimated their net savings are in excess of $100,000 per well, including savings from re-using the treated water in subsequent fracs."

Donahue continued, "HydroSphere can also reduce the need for harmful chemical additives to the water. And, unlike other water treatment technologies, the Ozonix® technology is very rapid and leaves no residues. We are very excited about receiving our second Ozonix® EF10M system and getting it out to our customers as soon as possible. We expect to order more Ozonix® units in the very near future."

Dennis McGuire, Chairman and CEO of Ecosphere Technologies, stated, "The latest equipment delivery for HydroSphere continues to demonstrate Ecosphere and FNES's competitive positioning in the oil and gas water treatment space. Since 2009, Ecosphere and FNES have pioneered and led the treatment and recycling of produced and flowback waters at the well site with our multi-patented Ozonix® technology, a chemical-free, Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) capable of treating 100% of the water required for hydraulic fracturing operations."

McGuire continued, "Today, Ozonix® continues to be a game-changing product for the oil and gas industry, having been used on approximately 1,200 oil and natural gas wells around the United States and Canada, treating and recycling approximately 5 Billion gallons of water and continuing to offer customers a competitive and cost-effective advantage over the use of conventional, liquid chemicals. As a result, our patented Ozonix® technology has been field-proven in all major shale plays including but not limited to the Fayetteville, Haynesville, Woodford, Eagle Ford, Bakken, Marcellus and Permian Basin."
