AguaClara LLC designs gravity-powered water treatment plants for low-income communities around the world. Conventional centralized water treatment can be complex, costly, and—for the 750 million people without access to clean drinking water around the world—completely unsustainable.

Services:
We offer a range of services to help project developers implement our water treatment technologies. They include feasibility studies, design, training and technical services for full-scale projects, and licensing opportunities to build individual components or entire plants en masse. We also offer environmental engineering consulting services for water and wastewater treatment projects of all shapes and sizes (currently only in the US).
When selecting the appropriate treatment technology, there are several things to keep in mind. The technologies are best suited for municipalities and communities with:
100 - 10,000 households
Access to surface water or a lowland sanitary well
Turbidity at the water source (bacterial and/or pathogenic contamination)
Access to a pipeline distribution system (direct to households or public taps)
Limited or no access to electricity
Take note that while the technologies are designed to provide safe water on tap, we do not build pipeline distribution systems ourselves. A distribution system must either already be in place or under development to ensure that the community will get the most value out of our water treatment plant.
