Tube settlers which are also known as plate settlers or lamella clarifiers are used in drinking- and wastewater treatment plants to settle out suspended solids. Depending on the application the TSS (total suspended solids) loading can vary between 50 to 500mg/l or more. When the solid settling force is higher as all drag forces, solids will settle down on the channel surface of the tube settler, accumulate with other solids and slide down as sludge.

For O&M needs,
could we have one unit in service and one unit being maintained and kept standby.
In situ clean up ie back flush with blow thro on air and fluids may be done.
HF vibes and cold- hot shocks are used to cleanup sludge lodged on plates.
Soak and rinse of cleaning of plates are also done as needed.
Parametrs of dp differential pressure ie before and after gives an idea on degree of fouling.
Accordingly maintainance is done.
Well wishes.
