We have studied and researched on two very salty rivers (EC=180000 µmho/cm) in the southwest of Iran. In this research, we proposed eleven methods to remove salinity and reduce it. The capacitive deionization method is one of our suggestions, which is as follows: Capacitive deionization is a saltwater desalination process based on the adsorption of salt ions on electrodes to which a direct voltage is applied, just like the process that occurs in a super capacitor. In this method, three types of electrodes are used. 1- the usual electrode containing activated carbon (ACE), 2- the electrode with the addition of 5% of ion exchange resins (IER5), 3- the electrode with the addition of 10% of manganese dioxide (MnOE10).
