Notwithstanding certain peoples propensity to propose their own dodgy technologies the real issue is not about supply of chemicals. Companies have for a long time ensured that they have security of supply of chemicals and this will be a challenge to that but no more. The more important issue is that due to the chronic shortage of engineers in UK water projects like many others is heavily dependent on these terrible migrants that come over here doing the jobs that UK employers can't find candidates for. If they all bimble off back to wherever we will be screwed.

I agree with Eric. "Project Scare" is well underMay/uh way. The use of chemicals to clean water is WWII technology. Microbial cleaning is 1 10,000th the cost and has ZERO % chance of allowing anything to get past its microbial duties. The primary question is not where do we get the chemicals. It is Why are we still using ancient technologies. What do ya bet no one responds to this fact. Cuts into some government officials profits.

Hi as an experienced water engineer with over 50 years employed at a senior level in the UK Water Industry I view this as project fear.
