Unique Water Testing at Texas A&M University
Published on by Water Network Research, Official research team of The Water Network in Technology
Safer water is the goal of Texas A&M researchers who've devised an unprecedented method of testing water for waste contamination. Vladislav Yakovlev, professor of biomedical engineering, and his team use laser light to find previously undetectable molecules associated with human and animal fecal matter in water. The technology has vast potential uses, including analysis of drinking water supplies in developing nations and following natural disasters. The team also hopes to adapt the technology for testing water at home.
