Veolia Awarded $20 Mil Kuwait Contract

Veolia Water Technologies has been awarded a 20 million USD contract in Kuwait for the engineering, supply and commissioning of a complete incineration unit to handle oily and biological sludge

Veolia is supplying the sludge treatment technologies to two oil refineries as part of a major project that covers a broad revamping of Kuwait National Petroleum Company facilities. Veolia is providing its expertise to the joint venture that manages the project and was set up between Fluor, Daewoo and Hyundai.

In addition, Veolia will purchase and manufacture all the required equipment, instrumentation, piping and structures, sourcing them through its own network of subcontractors based in Europe and the Middle East.

Thierry Froment , the head of Veolia Water Technologies Oil & Gas business, said “ This contract is a clear indication of how Veolia Water Technologies is in an ideal position to further develop in the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East. It is one of the few water technology companies able to deliver a project of this complexity, having at its disposal such a wide range of proven technologies perfectly adaptable to oil and gas customers in the region .”

These technologies contribute to the improvement of industrial processes across numerous sectors and around the world. Together with Veolia’s know-how, they ensure that harmful pollutants are treated and disposed of in a way that avoids damage to the environment.

The project should be delivered in the next 16 months.
