Wastewater Disinfection Pioneer, Pasteurization Technology Group, To Receive Prestigious Water Technology Award

Pasteurization Technology Group (PTG), innovator of the only wastewater disinfection process that creates renewable energy, will receive the prestigious 2013 Innovative Technology Award from the Water Environment Federation (WEF), the worldwide industry association for water and wastewater professionals. WEF includes many of the world's top experts in water and wastewater technology. The award will be presented during a ceremony at the organization's 86th Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC® 2013), next month in Chicago.

The Innovative Technology Award is the premier award presented annually to leading companies that have introduced pioneering technologies related to the water and wastewater industries. PTG is being recognized from among many companies in the Innovative Technology category for its X-500 system, which uses waste heat from turbines or engines to disinfect wastewater while also generating electricity.
"This award from WEF, the most influential organization in the water and wastewater industry, is the strongest validation of our breakthrough technology by the leading experts in the business," said Greg Ryan, co-founder and CEO of Pasteurization Technology Group. "This award mirrors the enthusiastic response we are seeing from the municipal, agricultural, beer, food and beverage industries due to the substantial cost savings our technology provides."
Forward-thinking cities in California, where water and wastewater quality standards are exceptionally stringent, are adopting PTG's innovative technology. Among them are Ventura Water and the town of Graton. Bob Rawson, General Manager of The Graton Community Services District, sees the benefits of PTG's approach: "PTG's proven technology is a great fit for Graton. We're located in Sonoma County, which is known for adoption of green and sustainable technologies. Our PTG system makes economic sense because it will significantly reduce our electricity costs. And it makes environmental sense too, since we can disinfect our wastewater without the use of toxic chemicals or expensive electricity."
