We are pleased to present to you the WEFTA 2022 Annual Report. We are grateful to our sponsors
and partners for all they do to help us carry on with our mission every year. We are also very proud of
the communities we work with on their journey to better health and self-sufficiency, and proud of our
volunteers for their acts of selflessness to improve the water and sanitation situations for thousands of
people each year. Together we are working to improve access to water and sanitation resources for
communities in need in Latin America and Africa. Your involvement with us on this journey, whether big
or small, makes our impact worthwhile on so many levels. Thank you!

Thankfully, 2022 was a year of being back in full swing of things; complete re-engagement with
communities, partners, and projects for WASH improvements. WEFTA continues to expand its reach to
secure funding in addition to finding resources that provide on-the-ground WASH resource assessments,
water and wastewater system design, construction, start-up, ongoing operation, maintenance, repair,
and training for system longevity. Stakeholder meetings and training have been held with particular
attention to maintaining systems’ long-term operation. Working in collaboration with the network
of professionals and volunteers we have developed has proved to be invaluable. The result is more
dedicated people providing more help to more people in need – progress on WEFTA’s mission.
Speaking of WEFTA’s mission, we are pleased to report that our Board of Directors met in person for a
two-day strategic planning workshop to hone our mission, vision, goals, and objectives. We came out
of that confluence of ideas with more drive and dedication to push WEFTA’s processes, systems, staff,
volunteers, partners, and beneficiaries to achieve higher standards of WASH outcomes in our projects.
We have firmly committed to our three-year strategic plan that aims to elevate how we engage at all
levels of the project cycle.

As we look to 2023, we plan to work on our key goals of the 2023-2025 WEFTA Strategic Plan which are:
to strengthen strategic partnerships that leverage our expertise and project/program support, expand
our volunteer base to positively contribute to our mission, develop sustainable systems that increase
project/program quality and overall wellbeing; increase our board capacity to effectively support
these projects and programs; and to improve our fundraising capabilities to support our projects and
programs.

We hope you enjoy the information contained within this annual report and trust that WEFTA is working
hard for the end result of improving lives in the communities where we work through the development
of sustainable water and sanitation systems.

Peter G. Fant, P.E.
President
