ZLD Tested that Recovers 95% Fresh Water

Salttech DyVaR Technology Water Processing System is a highly advanced efficient Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) water processing technology that has ability to recover up to 95 - 97% clean fresh water from high chloride water containing dissolved salts of up to and over 300,000 parts per million

For the demonstration, STW Water took samples obtained directly from the Gulf of Mexico for onsite processing. STW Water Specialists processed the salt water through the DyVaR system, clearly illustrating the performance level of the technology and its potential role in addressing the challenges of the drought and limited fresh water resources in Texas and other states.

The Salttech DyVaR Technology Water Processing System is a highly advanced efficient Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) water processing technology that has ability to recover up to 95 - 97% clean fresh water from high chloride water containing dissolved salts of up to and over 300,000 parts per million. This includes frack flowback, oilfield produced water, ocean water and reverse osmosis concentrated brine reject from salt water or high brackish systems.

The remaining 3% - 5+% is discharged in the form of solid salts and minerals, thus no liquid discharge. Most conventional ocean water desalination systems produce 35% - 45% fresh water depending on water salinity, and therefore produce a 55% - 65% waste stream of highly concentrated brine liquid that ends up being discharged into the local waterways and oceans, potentially creating harmful effects on the ecosystems.

Discharging the concentrated reject into waterways does not happen with the STW Salttech Technology! It can also be utilized in Geothermal Projects / Operations to process the spent high chloride geothermal water into potable drinking water, thus facilitating a completely sustainable andenvironmentally clean water and power operation.

STW's president, Alan Murphy, gave a presentation on the STW DyVaR technology at the SMU Power Plays: Geothermal Energy in Oil and Gas Fields Conference with the DyVaR demo unit in Dallas this week, and will be traveling to Galveston and other areas across Texas to showcase the STW DyVaR technology over the next couple of months.
