20th UNSGAB Meeting, Milano Italy, 21-23 May: collaboration with water stewardship initiatives, WFN among others

Published on by

The meeting agenda is covering the following aspects:
With the post-2015 agenda and SDG's (sustainable development goals), the UN is moving toward a broad water goal which will include sustainability. Currently, there are three pillars being considered for a stand-alone post-2015 water goal: 1) right to water with the goal being universal access, 2) water is used sustainably in all river basins, 3) water is used efficiently - including reuse and recycling. Water Footprint Assessment (http://www.waterfootprint.org/?page=files/WaterFootprintAssessmentManual) can aid in making informed decisions regarding points 2) and 3).
