Canals are constructed for providing irrigation facilities in agriculture fields, and conveying water for other purposes such as drinking water, industrial use, etc. i have tried to explain the design of a canal and and factors which may adversely affect the proper functioning of a canal for carrying a design discharge. I invite other members to describe their experience , comments and opinion in this matter.
