There could be 9 billion people on the planet by 2050. Currently about 15 % of the global population are hungry, live in poverty, and are dangerously dependent on agriculture. How can we ensure the universal food security that underpins political stability, social welfare, and economic growth?http://eudevdays.eu/sites/default/files/EDD12_AGRI_24092012.pdf

Some people are starving while some of us are getting sick from eating unappropriately. Wordwidely, it seems that we produce enough food to actually feed each and everyone. But our management is just unefficient as so-called modern societies waste around 30% of the things they are supposed to consume. Our meat intake is excessive and cattle is undergoing terrible breeding conditions. Cereals or grains should not be used for bio-fuel production, neither for financial speculation, especially when people are dying from hunger. In my opinion, sustainability is not just a new trendy word used by marketing to ruin it's meaning. It is different lifestyle that should start by a massive eye-opening on our destructive mentality.

Sadly, either food rationing, curtailing mono-crop plantations and/or GM.
