Also this is a very interesting research report/article from the CGIAR Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) Program... showing the increasing vulnerability of the world to food insecurity as a result of a growing homogenization of world diets.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in 2012, 15.9 million children under 18 in the United States live in the condition where they are – unable to consistently access nutritious and adequate amounts of food necessary for a healthy life.
