Ground Water Recharge Mechanism

Published on by in Technology

How can I recharge water into an aquifer using simple and effective methods? Is there any one who can share their experience? Also, what are the different options for different aquifer types?

  1. I agree with Alain. The depth of the aquifer and the soil permeability will largely determine the solution.

Over 10 years ago we recharged ground water for potable water production using natural dune ponds starting from municipal sewage after advanced biological treatment followed by UF + RO with multiple barriers and full HACCP monitoring.

If interested, I can send you more information about this case via email.

    1. I am direct to a provider who has recently issued banking instruments for a couple of my clients the provider is 100% check-able you can do your due diligence on them. I personally know the provider.

  2. Depends on the nature of the prevailing hydrogeology.
Your question does suggest that you are referring to a shallow, unconfined aquifer. In which case percolation ponds are a good and low-tech option (does need periodic cleaning to sort of clean the "filter").

If deeper or artesian/confined, you are likely looking at a managed aquifer recharge scheme using injection wells. Effective but not so simple.
