Is your installation environment suitable for ultrasonic flowmeters?

In recent years, ultrasonic flow measurement technology has developed quite maturely, and the price is also decreasing. Its outstanding advantages and application fields are mainly reflected in the following aspects.

The ultrasonic flow sensor can not directly contact the measured medium, and the high pressure of the fluid, the inclusion of more impurities, and the harsh conditions such as easy solidification and easy crystallization do not pose a threat to the flowmeter. In recent years, ultrasonic flowmeters have been widely used in the measurement of gasoline and fuel flow.

Although the clamping ultrasonic flowmeter is not accurate, it is easy to install and is often used for flow monitoring and process control. In recent years, some companies have introduced multi-channel ultrasonic flowmeters with an accuracy of ±0.5% R. Some apply to gases, some apply to clean liquids, can be used for trade transfer.

In the application of ultrasonic flowmeter, the following aspects need to be handled correctly:

     a.Correct selection.

Ultrasound can be divided into propagation time method and Doppler (effect) method according to the working principle. Therefore, in liquid flow measurement, the propagation time method ultrasonic flow meter is suitable for flow measurement of clean fluid, and the Doppler ultrasonic flow meter is suitable for liquid containing bubbles.

b.The effect of viscosity on the meter value.

The viscosity of the measured fluid is different, and the flow measurement accuracy will be affected differently.

c.Pay attention to the temperature rating of the sensor.

High temperature sensors are suitable for fluid temperatures up to 210 ° C. When the measured fluid is heavy oil, the sensor and coupling agent should be of high temperature type due to the high fluid temperature.
