Yes Nitrate can be removed by mycelium because the mycelium breaks down and absorbs surrounding organic matter into nutrients that can be absorbed and used as nourishment. Mycelia make up a critical part of their ecosystems by aiding in the decomposition and regeneration process.the mycelium makes up the thallus, or undifferentiated body, of a typical fungus. It may be microscopic in size or developed into visible structures.

Hello Prem Baboo, thanks for answering this question! I would like to know the cost-effectiveness of this process. We are noting nitrate contamination in groundwater sources such as borewells. Any example of successful removal of nitrate would help.
