Hi Tanvi: Both type of membrnaes have their advantages and disadvantages for certain applications. In general, pressure driven UF and MF membranes are more widely used than vacuum-driven membranes becasue they can be operated at higher flux (productivity) and yield more compact and less costly filtration systems. So, for water qualtiy of typical surface water source (river, ocean, lake) with relativley low turbidity (
