Interesting documentary Boris. I agree if the seeds are selected properly and the irrigation pattern is managed well, organic farming will consume less water....do any one know about seeds variety to be used in organic farming?

Hello Ned, Thank you for your comment, I am glad you liked the movie. I think the best seed varieties are local and traditional: we call them heirloom seedlings. Indeed, their progressive evolution made them naturally resistant to hostile environmental conditions, such as droughts. FYI, you can check out this website: http://kokopelli-semences.fr/who_are_we

Hello Gema, Yes, it is a French documentary with spanish subtitles. Many experts are interviewed, some are speaking in English, others in Brazilian... I looked for an English subtitled version but I could not find it. Sincerily sorry !

Hi Boris, is this documentary is in French? Sorry to say I didn't understand a single word as the subtitles are also in French. Do you know any English version available on Internet? Thanks for your efforts.

Thank you Gema. Maybe the community should watch the following documentary: http://vimeo.com/49121967 I do not own any rights on this video, I am only sharing this internet link. Some subjects are controversial and debatable. It seems to me that with the right seedlings, organic farming would demand less inputs for crop production.

I stongly recommend organic farming resulting in no use of pesticides. Boris, you are welcome to post video links and your ideas here. Thanks for bringing the idea of organic farming on board. What you think does organic farming demands more water or less water for crop production?

Hello Gema, What if the best way not to consume pesticides would be not to use them in future agriculture? Agroecology is offering solutions to develop sustainable, organic food production systems. Are we allowed to post video links here? I would like to share a french documentary mentionning these "new" methods.
