RIVER WATER POLLUTION

What are the sanitation related implications of this practice assuming that other people are using the water downstream for drinking.This is common in Kenya.

  1. Depending on the carrying capacity of the river. If the point of use is far away this activity will not affect the quality of the water too much. But needs to be tested before drinking. But then we need to consider that: 1. How many people are doing this ? 2. How far these human activities around the river and the point of use. 3. Volume of the river and also other sources of pollution

When one takes in gange example which receives all the dead defecations and animals one thinks that these rivers are equipped with an arsenal of purifying carnivore. can be that while deepening one could have another phylosophie: it is not better not this way of making than the latrines which transform the fecal matter into mud which will be poured in the environment by polluting it seriously. these carnivores purifier do not eat mud they eat only living it. the fecal matter is a orgnaic matter about the alive one
