Suggestion for Installation of Electromagnetic Flowmeter
Electromagnetic flowmeter measurement principle does not depend on the characteristics of the flow, if there is a certain turbulence in the pipeline and vortex produced in the non-measurement zone (such as: elbow, tangential limit or upstream half open valve) is not related to measurement.
If there is steady eddy current in the measuring area, which will affect the stability of the measurement and the accuracy of measurement, then some measures should be taken to stabilize the velocity distribution:
A. Increase the length of the straight pipe;
B. The use of a flow stabilizer;
C. Reduce the cross-section of the measuring points.
upstream straight pipe >10xdn
downstream straight pipe >5XDN
dn= sensor nominal caliber
