11th International Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (ISMAR11)
Published on by Adam Hutchinson, PG, CHG, Recharge Planning Manager at Orange County Water District in Case Studies
The International Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (ISMAR) is the world’s preeminent symposium on managed aquifer recharge (MAR). With the continued unsustainable, overuse of groundwater in many areas of the world, managed aquifer recharge, or the intentional recharge of groundwater aquifers, has become a fundamental tool in our global water management efforts to restore and sustainably manage declining aquifer supplies and MAR, as part of an integrated and holistic approach to water management, is how the world will develop resilient groundwater supplies in the face of a changing climate.
The Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRA) is privileged and excited to be hosting ISMAR11 on April 11-15, 2022 at the Long Beach Hilton. We have a packed agenda with pre-conference workshops led by leaders in the MAR space, presentations by leaders in the worldwide water resources arena, three days of technical presentations, many receptions and networking opportunities, two post-conference field trips, and the Herman Bouwer Awards Lunch. There will also be many opportunities for students and young professionals to be involved and network.
The call for abstracts is open! Please visit the ismar11.net website to submit an abstract. There are also sponsorship opportunities!
