This conference will bring together the experience and expertise of 100 years of scientific research and practical operation of activated sludge plants that form the basis of the modern understanding of the process. The conference will be a forward-looking event that showcases the latest developments and applications of the technology.
The programme of oral presentations was developed in close co-operation of the IWA Specialist Groups on " Design , Operation and Costs of Large Wastewater Treatment Plants", " Nutrient Removal and Recovery " and " Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering " with support from the Specialist Groups on " Sludge Management " and " Membrane Technology ".
