Arab Water Convention 2022

The Arab Water Convention is part of a series of regional events organized by the Arab Water Council to address a specific water priority issue in the Arab region, thus responding to the region’s rapidly changing water challenges. The aim of the Arab Water Convention is to provide a regional and international platform to exchange state-of-the-art technologies, advanced applications, and successful practices on a specific water priority issue in the Arab region which is facing rapid changing water challenges. This edition is dedicated to address the non-conventional water resources (NCWR) and the wealth of emerging opportunities for business and innovation the field of water resources management has to offer. The convention will also be an exclusive opportunity to foster business connections with a wide spectrum of high-level industry executives, planners, and decision-makers from different Arab countries and international partners.

This event includes a multi-stakeholder dialogue and will offer an opportunity to promote the most efficient, adequate, and innovative technologies, exchange knowledge, share best practices, and ensure a qualified transfer of pilot experiences on emerging issues in the Arab region.

The main topics of the Convention will include sound governance frameworks for efficient use of non-conventional water resources, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, financial engineering applications for sustainable and smart use of NCWR, including greening cities and desert lands, the use of advanced renewable energy for decarbonizing water, wastewater management, sustainable water solutions, and strategies for food and energy security in a changing climate. The event targets high-level decision makers, planners, academia, researchers, managers, technical experts, industrial engineers, and specialists in different disciplines of water, food, and energy nexus in a changing climate. Gender empowerment and youth participation will be an important cross-cutting component of the Convention.

The Arab Water Convention will host a two-day conference followed by a third day of site visits with strategic and interactive technical sessions to present and discuss real actions on the ground, including achievements, challenges, lessons learnt and opportunities to upscale successes, and technical site visits to witness successes and best practices on the ground.

A two-day world-class exhibition will take place in parallel to the Convention sessions showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in four key sectors: storm water management, drainage networks, irrigation systems, and wastewater treatment solutions.
