FREE WEBCAST- Total Nutrients Removal in WT by MABR Technology
Published on by Water Network Research, Official research team of The Water Network in Technology
This webcast will start with an expert review of nutrient removal in wastewater treatment. Listeners can then find out about new findings on how phosphorous can be removed during Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) processes, while they also perform simultaneous nitrification and denitrification.
Event Description:
Nutrient removal in conventional wastewater treatment processes requires dedicated zones with specific conditions and reactions. Internal circulation of mixed liquor to an anoxic denitrification zone provides the conditions for nitrogen removal. Bio-p removal is typically achieved by providing sufficiently anaerobic conditions as a first stage of the process.
MABR are already supposed to be known to enable simultaneous nitrification and denitrification, by providing an aerated surface for development of a nitrifying biofilm on the surface of the membrane in an anoxic tank; While nitrification occurs within the membrane biofilm, denitrification occurs in the suspended heterotrophic biomass, to oxidize organic carbon it has already accumulated. It had recently been found that phosphorous removal also occurs in some configurations of MABR, simultaneously with the nitrogen removal.
This webcast will discuss the requirements on nutrient removal in wastewater treatment and the MABR game changing advantages.
