Seminar for phasing out plastic off the Kamakhya Temple Premise

‘ Voice of Environment ’ & ‘ Sahayata Co-education & Rehabilitation Society’ are blessed to have a privilege to initiate our First Phase of creating Maa Kamakhya Temple Premise, one of the holiest Shakti-Peetha ‘ An Eco-Friendly Plastic Free Zone ’ under a signed Memorandum of Understanding with Respected Doloi, Kamakhya Devalaya, Guwahati , Assam.
The team have gathered here in the Kamakhya Temple Premise on the very first day of the Year joined by lakh of devotees & blessed with the presence of Respected Mayor, Guwahati Metro shri Mrigen Sarania , Respected Doloi's representative, Priests & Vendors. We organized the Awareness Programme from 11 am to 4 pm today on 01-01-2017. Respected Mayor appreciated our programme & encouraged us to continue our association with Maa Kamakhya Devalaya for transforming temple premise into a plastic & polybag free zone. He emphasized our plan for creating Maa Kamakhya Temple a clean, green & sustainable religious & cultural tourism destination.Well known social activist Aparna Bhattacharya was also present in this program. She said this is a great initiative towards swachhh Kamakhya Devalaya vision and a positive step for sustainable environment.
The team has distributed over 2500 ‘Pledge Leaflets’ separately to Devotees, Vendors & Priests respectively. Moharana Choudhury & Anjulina Choudhury have represented respectively from ‘ Voice of Environment ’ & ‘Sahayata Co-education & Rehabilitation Society’.
Both the organizations in collaboration with Respected Doloi, Kamakhya Devalaya are thankful to the Respected Mayor, Doloi, Kamakhya Temple & Kumar Deepak, UNDP for the completion of the First Phase of our Programme.
Let us create Maa Kamakhya Temple premise ‘ An Eco-Friendly Plastic Free Zone ’.
