Dr. A Amarender Reddy working as principal scientist (Agricultural Economics), Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI/New Delhi). Prior to this he worked with Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) as special project scientist looking after IFPRI funded Dynamics of Rural Labour Markets project. He also worked as Associate Professor (Public Policy) with Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad; Bankers Institite of Rural development (BIRD, Lucknow); Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA/New Delhi).

Consultant to many international and national organizations like Japanese Bank for International cooperation, Japan; Planning Commission, Government for India; consultant on rehabilitation and resettlement for TEHRI HYDRO project; Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC); Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India on pulses consumption pattern; consultant to task force on agriculture for Andhra Pradesh Government.

Published more than 70 international and national journal articles in Economic and Political Weekly, food policy, Finance India, Indian Journal of Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Economics Research Review.
