Main research interests are in ground water resources, transport of pollutants and it behavier in the subsurface with a focus on microbiology and micropollutants. I has published more than 90 articles, mainly on groundwater related topics and water resource management.
I am also a advisor to government institutions in Austria and Germany. For example, he is an expert to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management on issues related to land fill remediation. I am also a member of various learned societies, a number of working groups and the head of the working group on “New Approaches to Groundwater Prodection” of the “Österreichischer Wasser- und Abfallwirtschaftsverband (ÖWAV)”
