Senior Scientist
I am studying the effects of environmental and anthropogenic change on alpine freshwater ecosystems in southern Switzerland. In particular, I use long-term monitoring data of the deep mesotrophic Lake Lugano to explore consequences of environmental change on trophic interactions.SUPSI - University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland

Post-Doc
I explored the consequences of multiple agricultural stressors acting simultaneously on stream ecosystems and in particular on their food webs. As common stressors in NZ, I tested the effects of water abstraction, eutrophication, fine sediment loads, and of a nitrification inhibitor.2013-02 - 2015-06
Post-Doc
As post-doc in eawag`s department of surface waters - research and management, I led a project that aimed at collecting and analysing knowledge from hydropeaking mitigation projects and to provide best-practice guidelines.2011-06 - 2012-12
PhD
During my PhD-project I was studying the effects of biodiversity loss on stream ecosystem functioning with a focus on detrital food webs, i.e. food webs of shaded streams that are relying mainly on energy from organic matter washed in from the catchment.2007-04 - 2011-04
