A tech entrepreneur with 26 years of building exponential talent, products and businesses, Stonefield has conceived, designed, productized and/or taken to market Mobile (apps, media & entertainment, IP-comms and advertising), MedTech, FinTech, Solar Energy Financing; e-Learning, and Smart Farming projects.  Expertise with product invention or innovation, business expansion and internationalization, talent development, venture financing and development strategies, user-experience interface design, and intellectual property.

Listed as “one of the top 50 mobile content executives” by Mobile Entertainment Magazine, between 1997 and 2005 he spearheaded the multibillion-dollar downloadable song and ringtone industries and, in 2009, developed a solution for projecting media peer-to-peer between 3G phones. He has co-founded or advises innovation startups in the US, UK, Sub-Sahara Africa, and the U.A.E.

Stonefield sources “Leapfrog Technologies” and “Reverse Innovations” as CTO for the Alternative Initiatives for the Development of Africa (www.aida.co.bw). He leads the global tech investment and African project activities for Zurich- and Abu Dhabi-based Tharawat Asset Management (www.tharawat.co). In his effort to develop the innovation ecosystem in the MEA region, he advises or mentors six dynamic startups sourced through business accelerators, technology incubators and NPO’s such organizations as the Allan Gray Orbis Accelerator, the International Labor Organization, and the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship. He routinely judges tech innovation contests like UNESCO’s Innovation Prize for Africa and DEMO Africa .
