Busani Bafana
About
Busani Bafana is trained Zimbabwean journalist and currently writes for the Inter Press Service Africa, Reuters and Spore Magazine. He has Busani has worked for leading newspapers in Zimbabwe. Busani also consults in Southern Africa on documentation, media and corporate communications.
Writing largely on development, agriculture, water, food security, climate change, science and technology in Africa is Busani’s journalism passion. His work has been recognized globally earning a number of international awards and honours. In 1998, he was named joint winner of the inaugural IUCN/Reuters Foundation Environmental Reporting Award and has in the recent years received the following awards; CGIAR Science Award for Excellence in Agricultural Journalism in 2010, the inaugural Ozone Africa Media Awards in 2011 from UNEP and received the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) 70th Commemorative Medal in 2015 in recognition of his contribution to development journalism.
