Chitresh Saraswat is computer scientist turned water researcher at the United Nations University Institute for the Advances study of Sustainability, Tokyo. Currently, he is working as research assistant at United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan, with work experience in three continents including UN Secretariat, New York and British Embassy, Tokyo. Chitresh’s work concentrates on water security and environmental governance, with a focus on water. He has a good amount of industry experience of translating scientific research outcomes into meaningful public policy using data science and integrate research across disciplines. His works are largely focused on sustainable water resources management, environmental modeling and supporting multi-stakeholder platform to link research to water policy. His experience includes conducting original research in the fields of hydrology, water security, and governance and involved both laboratory and field work. He published 14 quality research articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at various international conferences on the solution side of water security. He has lived and worked in Asia, Europe, and North America.
