Dario Bernardi, Engineer at Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara

About

After my MSc in civil and environmental engineering, earned in 2010, I completed (April 2015) a PhD program in Engineering Science at the University of Ferrara, whose main topic was the application of numerical hydrodynamics and sediment transport models to the management of river resources. Several works have been presented at international conferences and I participated (2013 – 2015) in the international cooperation project IMRR (Integrated and sustainable water Management of Red-Thai Binh Rivers System in changing climate) between Vietnamese water mangement agencies and the Italian government, led by a research group of the Politecnico University of Milan.

During the PhD program, in 2014 I was an intern for three months at Bioengineering Group (now acquired by Chester Engineers) in Salem (MA, USA), a company with several years of experience in the design of sustainable erosion control, slope stability, stormwater management solutions.

During the final months of the PhD and afterwards, I have collaborated with a couple of small civil engineering companies and I currently work (from May 2016) on flood risk modeling cases at the Consorzio di Bonifica Pianura di Ferrara, a public water management agency in charge of irrigation and drainage services in the Ferrara province (Italy).
