About

I am a highly motivated second year graduate student with a research-oriented mind and passionate about learning, with a positive attitude towards science and achievement. I am strongly committed to graduate education in the environmental sciences, aspiring to pursue a career in governance for sustainable development, specifically helping construct ways to understand and analyze the world.

I strongly believe that the modern world is one of interconnection and inter-dependence; therefore, being and working with people who can think and write critically, appreciate diversity, and grasp some of the components of culture are uniquely suited to succeed.

In my Master thesis I will specifically investigate the decision-making strategies of countries in a multi-actor collaborative governance setting. For the future, I would like to pursue a career in water management/governance, particularly relating to adaptive flood risk management, freshwater scarcity, and water quality management. Other governance-related research topics I am interesting in are managing water use for agricultural production and conflict resolution at the river basin scale. The theme regarding the relationship between humans and the natural environment also holds an important meaning for me.

My vision for the future is one of more dynamic interplay between the social, economic, and environmental spheres. I look forward to acquiring more knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable development and water management, but also to further my professional development.
