Born and raised in Kimball, Nebraska.  Dad was a farmer, Grandfather was a Cattle Rancher.  Worked in farming, surveying logging roads, fought forest fires, worked on construction of Interstate 80 in Western Nebraska (surveying, bridge and culvert construction, inspection), salinity control of water entering Mexico, Operation and Maintenance of the Colorado River from Davis Dam to the Northerly International Boundary with Mexico, responsible for the development of drainage pumping requirements for groundwater control and salinity control, wrote emergency action plans and standing operating procedures for 3 dams, developed switching programs and job safety hazard analysis for work activities in power plants, drainage pumping, and canal and river maintenance activities, worked on Colorado River water law and contract issues, project manager for canal lining projects, responsible for safety of dams programs, supervised personnel in accomplishing work assignments,
