About
Water sector practitioners need to take special interest in the implementation of the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) Concept in rural communities. Some community members after a triggering exercise begin excavating latrines, and the deeper they are able to excavate, the more they get the feeling of accomplishment. Before any technical support is offered, they have already completed the sub structure of their latrines. However, issues of underground water pollution with excreta is one critical thing that water experts must take up and demand to be part of the CLTS project implementation to at-least determine the depth at which households could excavate their latrine holes on a community case by case basis.Industry experience
