Emanuele Quaranta, Water wheels expert, micro hydropower, CFD simulations, hydropower, hydraulics, water
About
Emanuele Quaranta is an hydraulic Engineer, PhD. he was Research Fellow at Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy) and now he is project officer (scientific research) at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (Water and Marine Directorate). He has a Master degree in Hydraulic Engineering (cum laude). His research concerns with (1) mini/micro hydropower, and he is an expert in water wheels (experimental tests, theoretical and CFD models to estimate and improve their performance); (2) CFD simulations for hydraulic problems; (3) Eco-Hydraulics, especially fish passages. Emanuele is author of peer-reviewed publications and he has been reviewer for scientific international journals and TPC member of international congresses. He is member of national and international associations. He is an editorial board member of Renewable Energy research. He is also scientific consultant and a scientific divulgator.
