About
After a Fulbright fellowship studying Umayyad state investment in water infrastructure in Bilad al-Sham (the Syrian desert), I returned to school to earn an MLA at the University of Arizona, Tucson, concentrating on planning for the sustainable development of arid lands. For over twenty years I have worked mainly in Jordan, using my academic training in humanities to complement my work in landscape planning, rangeland rehabilitation, and the intersection of natural and cultural heritage conservation. In 2016 I returned to the U.S., and I am currently working on a social, economic and environmental history of the Southwest Great Plains since the Dust Bowl. My published work can be accessed via academia.edu.Industry experience
