associate Professor of Plant Ecology and Freshwater Management at the Department of Biology, University of Patras, Greece.

Expertise in developing of aquatic macrophyte indices, to implement Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EE) in lakes, rivers, coastal and transitional waters. She has experience as key partner and National representative of Greece and Cyprus in MEDGIG Intercalibration process for rivers (quality element, macrophytes); in many national and international projects on biodiversity conservation, shallow lakes functioning; monitoring and management of protected areas; coordination of scientific working teams (e.g. Implementation of the Natura 2000 network). The main research interests focused on Freshwater Ecology and management included functional aspects of lake and river communities, effects of climate changes on aquatic ecosystems dynamic, evaluation of ecological quality and dynamics of aquatic and riparian vegetation, biodiversity monitoring, impacts of human activities and landscape ecology.
