About

I hold a PhD in Geography from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and currently an Associate Professor in the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research, Ibadan, Nigeria.

I have successfully combined a career in innovative research and teaching and have benefited from several international research and travel grants that have been well utilised over the past ten years. My research has touched largely on Urbanization, Food-Energy-Water Nexus Security and Extreme Hazard Risks (UNMASK).

Most of these researches and activities have come from engagements and collaborations with many international bodies and institutions including the African Climate Change Fellowship Programme (ACCFP), START, Washington DC, The Earth System Governance (ESG), Project, Urbanisation and Global Environmental Change (UGEC), School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, Global Environment Change and Human Security (GECHS), International Year of Global Understanding (IYGU), West Africa Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Landsue (WASCAL), Adaptation Futures, the Dresden Nexus Conference (United Nations University Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) and currently the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (MIT-UTM) Malaysia Sustainable Cities Programme (with the aim of conducting research on sustainable urban development in Malaysia and subsequently produce learning modules for municipal and environmental faculties worldwide in MIT). These engagements have given me a rich experience and deep appreciation of the global and local dimensions of Global Environmental Change.
