Fred Heerbrandt

About

Fred received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from James Madison University and received a Master of Engineering Degree in Environmental Pollution Control from the Pennsylvania State University in May of 1997.  His Masters Research Paper was entitled "Sludge Production from Biological Excess Phosphorus Removal."  He spent the first six years of this professional career with the Technical Services Division of Hampton Roads Sanitation District in southeastern Virginia.  While there, Fred worked on a variety of projects associated with the District's nine wastewater treatment facilities, including biosolids composting, agricultural utilization of biosolids, environmental impact studies, and odor control.  After re-locating to Adams County, Pennsylvania, Fred worked at a 1.0-MGD oxidation ditch process wastewater treatment facility in Thurmont, MD and also spent several years working in land surveying and development while pursuing his graduate degree.  He received his Professional Engineer’s license in June, 2002 in Environmental Engineering. His primary areas of responsibility with the firm are in municipal and industrial water and wastewater engineering including facilities planning and design, permitting, preparation of annual reports, operational consulting, and biosolids utilization. 

 

Fred is a licensed wastewater operator in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association, and Central Pennsylvania Water Quality Association, He also was a board member of the Section A Water Corporation, the Carroll Valley Sewer and Water Authority and the Adams County Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
