About

Thirty years of experience in roles of responsibility within the MOSE project in Venice have made me an all-round expert in the design of storm-surge barriers and in solutions for environmental adaptation and mitigation. I am a manager of the transport processes of sand and soft sediments in complex hydro-morphological and socio-ecological systems. I am also a designer of Nature-based coastal infrastructures serving harbors, (inland) navigation, aquaculture, horticulture, and ecotourism.
As a consultant, manager, and scholar, I envisage and deliver green and blue solutions for encroached coastal cities in times of social and climate change. I am eager to establish discovery-based partnerships regarding the adaptive co-management of ecosystem services by enhancing quality, availability, and use of soil and water.
