Dr. Glynn Skerratt is a Chartered Chemist, a Chartered Environmentalist, a Chartered Water and Environment Manager and a Chartered Scientist. A sustainability consultant who provides expert witness reports and delivers training, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Higher Education Academy and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

Specialising in water/wastewater treatment technologies, environmental management and sustainability, he has wide experience of distance and on-campus learning, teaching and assessment, training, consultancy, applied research and management.

He is an elected member of the RSC's Professional Standards Board and their Nomination Committee. He is also a Council Member of their Energy, Sustainability and Environment Division, a committee member of their Water Science Forum interest group and the secretary of the RSC Environmental Chemistry Group. He sits on the Registration Authority of the UK Science Council and undertakes licence reviews for both the Science Council and the Society for the Environment.

He is an Associate with Energy & Utility Skills, auditing UK water company Competent Operator Schemes and has, until recently, been an expert project evaluator for the European Commission. He has also been an External Examiner at the University of Hull and a professional reviewer and a university award accreditor for CIWEM.

Before working in academe, Dr. Skerratt had fifteen years of practical scientific and managerial experience in the UK water industry – managing wastewater treatment works and laboratories, and regulating industrial effluent discharges.
