Dr.Hesam Kamyab was born in Shiraz South of Iran on March 22, 1983. Dr. Hesam Kamyab received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Faculty of Civil Engineering Department of Environmental Engineering in 2016. He received a Master’s in Biotechnology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering in 2011. Dr. Hesam Kamyab pursued his research purposes in position of postdoctoral and visiting researcher in University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2016. However, he completed postdoctoral training at Department of Engineering, UTM Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2017. He is notably known for his active involvement in the International Water Association (IWA) and International Water Association-Young Water Professional IWA-YWP. He is the member and current chair of IWA Emerging Water Leaders (EWL) Steering committee.

Dr. Hesam’s research area has particularly focused on various techniques related upstream process comprising isolation, identification, and cultivation of microalgae with agro-wastewater under ponding system and characterization of agro-wastewater Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) and microalgae. His research is not limited to considered areas. More recently, he has developed his research with integration of indigenous bacteria and concrete as a self-healing concrete. He remain as active researcher and works on organic waste (composting) management to promote the adoption of greener technologies.Developed keen research interest in environmental studies, wanted to grow up as an environmental microbiologist and finally pursued the carrier as PhD with respect to environmental related topic as a main motivation. Some subjects that have taken during his bachelor’s and master’s degree were related to biotechnology and environmental that led into publishing several journals, received few awards, attended in many symposium and workshops. Till present time, he involves in various activities of research like publishing papers in journal, reviewer in some high rank journal, join as international advisory board of high reputation journal and assisting the master/ bachelor’s students for their research work. Lately he filled one patent. His research interests are Algal Biotechnology, Waste Water Treatment, Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology, Biocompost and Biorecycle as well. His main goal in near feature is to develop or create sustainable environmental conditions related to environmental related issues, which can contribute to human welfare, to create awareness and to protect the environment from further depicts whose benefits can be served even to the oncoming generations.
