About
Himansu is a doctoral student and junior researcher in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Estonian University of Life Sciences. His studies are focusing on the health and well-being impacts of improved access to water bodies in urban areas.
Himansu completed his Bachelor degree in Architecture in India in 2004. Subsequently he obtained an MSc in Urban & Regional Planning at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in 2008 and a Masters in Landscape Architecture at the Estonian University of Life Sciences in 2016. Recently he has been assessing the relative contribution of residential gardens to city-wide green space services and benefits in the case of Tartu, Estonia. His previous work investigated the responsiveness of public open spaces towards the culture around their use in the case of Granton Waterfront, Edinburgh. He has more than ten years experience in both consultancy and research in the UK and India.
